Pensacola, Fla.-based Baptist Health Care officials said operations at Baptist Medical Park-Airport, located near Pensacola International Airport, will commence Wednesday, according to the Pensacola News-Journal.
The 24,000-square-foot facility will host a variety of services, including urgent care, primary care, cardiology, urology and oncology services, 12 exam rooms and an X-ray imaging department. The first floor of the facility will also house a clinic operated by Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, a Baptist Health Care affiliate. The clinic will feature eight exam rooms and a procedure room, according to the report.
The medical park will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., including holidays. Officials first declared their intent to build the facility in February 2016.
"Specifically with this location, we recognize that many of our patients live and work within three to five miles of this location," said Mark Faulkner, president and CEO of Baptist Health Care. "We've got medical parks in Navarre, a large presence in Gulf Breeze, Nine Mile Road, Pace, Perdido, Jay and Century, but we recognized that we didn't have a significant presence in the central Pensacola area."
