Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health opened a $125 million addition to the system's flagship Levine Cancer Institute, also in Charlotte, April 22.
The Levine Cancer Institute II is 260,000 square feet and doubles the size of the cancer center. The expansion will extend research efforts, survivorship support programs, palliative care and patient rehabilitation services. It also expands services for hematologic, thoracic and gastrointestinal oncology, and houses a larger pharmacy and infusion area.
Each year, the Levine Cancer Institute serves more than 17,000 new patients across more than 25 care locations.
