The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last two weeks to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities.
1. CHI Franciscan, Virginia Mason partner to open birthing center
Tacoma, Wash.-based CHI Franciscan Health and Seattle-based Virginia Mason Medical Center plan to open and jointly operate a birthing center in Seattle.

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic will invest $190 million to add a seven-story hotel and four clinical treatment floors to its Gonda Building.
3. Santa Fe to open its first medical center in 30 years
On Oct. 1, Albuquerque, N.M.-based Presbyterian Healthcare Services will open the Santa Fe (N.M.) Medical Center, the first medical center to be built in the area in 30 years.
4. Ohio medical center starts construction of $70M tower
Beavercreek, Ohio-based Indu and Raj Soin Medical Center, part of Dayton, Ohio-based Kettering Health Network, broke ground on its $70 million, five-story patient tower.
5. Iora Health to open 10 primary care clinicsora Health to open 10 primary care clinics
Iora Health, a value-based primary care provider with a focus on Medicaid patients, is teaming up with Humana to open 10 primary care clinics across the U.S.
6. Froedtert to build 2nd Wisconsin neighborhood hospital
Milwaukee-based Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin plans to build its second neighborhood hospital in Oak Creek, Wis.
7. Kaiser to open medical center in Maryland
Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente plans to open a medical center in Bowie, Md., the health system said Sept. 7.
