1. Franciscan Health plans $50M complex, microhospital
Indianapolis-based Franciscan Health will begin work on a $50 million outpatient and specialty care complex and a conjoining microhospital that will include an emergency department in White River Township, Ind.
2. CarePoint Health seeks New Jersey approval to open 9 satellite EDs
Bayonne, N.J.-based CarePoint Health plans to open nine satellite emergency departments throughout New Jersey, according to a report on NJ.com.
3. Tampa General Medical Group opens TGMG Apollo Beach
Tampa General Medical Group, a division of Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital, opened a new location Oct. 20 in Apollo Beach, Fla.
4. Veritas Collaborative opens adult eating disorder hospital in NC
Veritas Collaborative opened a new hospital for adults with eating disorders in a Durham, N.C., according to the Triangle Business Journal.
5. Norwalk Hospital celebrates grand opening of new cancer center
Norwalk (Conn.) Hospital hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Oct. 29 to unveil its new C. Anthony and Jean Whittingham Cancer Center.
6. WellSpan Ephrata Hospital completes $28M expansion project
WellSpan Ephrata Hospital held a ribbon cutting ceremony Oct. 27 to celebrate its newly expanded health pavilion, according to Reading Eagle.
7. Jackson Health System breaks ground on new medical campus
Miami-based Jackson Health System broke ground Oct. 26 on a new medical campus, Jackson West, designed to expand access west of downtown Miami, according to the Miami Herald.
8. Tennessee children's hospital unveils $75M NICU
East Tennessee Children's Hospital in Knoxville gave patients a sneak-peak of its $75 million addition, named the Scripps Networks Tower, reports Knoxville News Sentinel.
9. Weiss Memorial Hospital introduces senior friendly emergency room
Chicago-based Weiss Memorial Hospital officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the improvements made to the hospital's emergency room to better assist and care for the elderly patients that visit the hospital.
10. Ohio Valley Medical Center unveils new expansion center
Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, W.Va., opened an expanded outpatient center in Triadelphia, W.Va., according to a Times Leader report.
11. Inspira Health Network proposes $349M hospital
Woodbury, N.J.-based Inspira Health Network proposed plans to build a 210-bed, $349 million hospital to replace its current Woodbury facility, according to NJ.com.
12. Reading Health System opens surgical facility
Reading (Pa.) Health System unveiled a 476,000-square-foot surgical center on its main campus.
13. New Eau Claire cancer center gains site plan approval despite opponents' concerns
Plans for a Marshfield Clinic Health System cancer center are moving forward after a site plan was approved by the City of Eau Claire's plan commission, according to a Leader-Telegram report.
14. Ruby Valley Hospital and Medical Center to break ground on $13M facility

20. Boston Children's Hospital's $1B expansion receives final approval
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health's Public Health Council voted Oct. 20 to approve Boston Children's Hospital's proposal to begin construction on a $1 billion expansion project, according to WBUR radio.
