Alexandria, Minn.-based Douglas County Hospital broke ground on a $15 million expansion project Sept. 30, reports Twin Cities Business.
Here are four things to know about the project.
- The expansion will increase the hospital's number of operating rooms from six to 10, add eight new pre- and post-operative rooms and create 22 new exam rooms in its specialty clinic center, among other projects.
- In total, 25,600 square feet of the hospital will be renovated and almost 7,700 square feet of space will be added.
- This project marks the hospital's second major expansion the hospital this decade and the second most expensive expansion since its founding in 1955, the report states.
- The expansion is slated for completion in 18 months.
