MIB, a membership corporation that providers underwriting services to insurance companies, signed an agreement to access EHR data from Veradigm, a subsidiary of Allscripts, for underwriting purposes.
Four notes:
1. Under the agreement, MIB will access EHR data through Veradigm's eChart Courier services to assist with underwriting for its 400 life insurance members.
2. Designed to automate the medical chart retrieval process, Veradigm eChart Courier electronically and securely transfers encrypted medical records.
3. MIB will use Veradigm eChart Courier to provide life insurers with EHR records when authorized by the individual applying for the insurance policy.
4.
