Watertown, S.D.-based Prairie Lakes Healthcare System has affiliated with Sanford Health to implement Epic as its new EHR system.
The affiliation agreement enables Prairie Lakes to adopt and standardize on the Epic EHR system, improving care coordination across Prairie Lakes and with Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health.
"With this agreement and subsequent implementation of Epic, Prairie Lakes reaffirms its commitment to innovation, quality and patient-centered care, setting the stage for improved healthcare delivery in northeast South Dakota and western Minnesota," Prairie Lakes President and CEO John Allen said in an Oct. 16 news release.
Prairie Lakes is an independent system with 800 employees that provides care for 90,000 people across northeast South Dakota and western Minnesota.
