Oracle cuts 3K jobs at Cerner: Report

Oracle has reportedly cut 3,000 jobs from Cerner, with layoffs hitting sectors such as marketing, engineering, accounting, legal and product, Business Today reported May 18.

According to former and current employees, Oracle paused promotions and raises for the Cerner unit and laid off 3,000 employees. During the June 2022 Cerner acquisition, 28,000 employees were transferred to work for Oracle.

According to the employees, Oracle also said it would not issue raises or promotions and that workers "shouldn't expect any through 2023."

The layoffs come after Oracle said it was considering $1 billion cost reduction efforts last year.

The news was first reported by Business Insider on May 16.
