Norton Healthcare and UofL Physicians, both in Louisville, Ky., are partnering with University of Louisville School of Medicine to expand pediatric care.
The healthcare organizations will integrate their EHR systems to increase interoperability of patients' health information. By combining patients health records onto a single platform, the three institutions will be able to access and share information more easily.
As part of the partnership, Norton Healthcare will oversee operations for pediatric and pediatric subspecialist offices currently under UofL Physicians – Pediatrics management. With the affiliation, an estimated 600 employees with 21 different practices will be included in the transition. UofL physicians will remain faculty of the U of Louisville School of Medicine but will work clinically within a Norton Healthcare pediatric practice, according to the news release.
The affiliation is expected to begin Feb. 1, 2020.
