New York health system gets millions for EHR install

Gouverneur (N.Y.) Hospital received a $10 million rural development grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to tackle a few new projects, including an EHR installation, according to the office of U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, the representative from New York's 21st district.

Gouverneur Hospital, part of Potsdam, N.Y.-based St. Lawrence Health, will lead efforts to install the EHR across the health system's three hospitals and multiple clinics. The grant will also help the system establish an interfacility transportation coordination center and train emergency medical staff.

Gouverneur Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital with additional programs in substance abuse rehabilitation.
