Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System has launched Epic, its new EHR system, with the first wave of users.
"This extensive, two-year journey has touched nearly every part of our organization, marking one of the most significant transformations in my career," Eric Smith, chief digital officer at Memorial Hermann Health System wrote in a May 22 LinkedIn post. "I'm eager to see the positive changes as we settle into operational efficiency and our patients engage with new digital experiences."
In September 2022, Memorial Hermann announced that it would be switching from an Oracle Health EHR system to an Epic one. Once the transition is complete, all Memorial Hermann locations will use the same Epic EHR system.
