Meditech lost 2,056 beds in 12 months

Meditech lost six hospitals from its network last year and 2,056 hospital beds, but did see gains in legacy migrations and net-new customers.

KLAS Research reported that Meditech had lost six hospitals in acute care hospital market share between 2021 and 2022. Among the top three EHR vendors by market share, which also includes Epic Systems and Oracle Cerner, Meditech was the only vendor to have a loss in both hospitals and beds. The EHR vendor did win some hospitals in 2022, according to KLAS, which reported that the vendor gained legacy migrations and net-new customers, with 120 hospital wins in the year.

But, when it comes to market share in the U.S., the vendor trails behind Epic Systems and Oracle Cerner, according to KLAS Research, which reported that Meditech owns 16.3 percent of hospital market share for 2022.

Epic Systems currently has the largest percentage of hospital market share, coming in at 35.9 percent, with Oracle Cerner coming in second at 24.9 percent.
