Fredericksburg, Va.-based Mary Washington Healthcare implemented the Epic EHR system across its organization.
The organization went live on the EHR June 2, after a two-year transition period. The new system replaces and consolidates multiple platforms into one EHR. Patients will have access to their medical information via the MyChart portal as well as enables MWHC to provide one consolidated billing statement.
Mary Washington Healthcare includes a 451-bed regional medical center and a 100-bed community hospital among its 40-plus facilities.
"There's a lot that went well for our go-live," said Justin Box, CIO of MWHC. "End users stayed positive and followed the support directions. Our senior leadership has been so supportive throughout the entire process. Epic has been a good partner, assuring us all along that we would not fail — and we haven't."
The organization is now working on optimizing the system.
