KLAS Research released a report on patient intake management tools in June to examine the performance of vendors in the space.
For the report, the health IT research firm interviewed 100 C-suite executives, directors and clinical leaders from various healthcare organizations about their experiences with patient intake management tools. These tools aim to automate the patient registration process, reducing the number of duplicative paper forms for patients to complete and front-office staff to transcribe into medical records.
EHR integration is a particularly important functionality for organizations looking to reduce the time front-office staff spends on transcription. Most customers scored their patient intake management vendors well on this capability, with all vendors scoring above a seven when customers were asked to evaluate the company on a scale of one to nine.
Here's how three popular vendors stacked up on EHR integration:
- OTech Group (based on 15 customers): 8.3
- Epion Health (23 customers, all of whom used athenahealth EHRs): 8.0
- Phreesia (60 customers): 7.6
KLAS Research also provided customer experience data on three additional patient intake management vendors. However, the firm noted the limited sample size of respondents hindered it from generalizing the findings.
- AdvancedMD (eight customers): 7.8
- GetWellNetwork (six customers): 7.5
- Tonic Health (six customers): 7.1
