Kettering Health Network to streamline EMS data exchange with real-time notification system

Dayton, Ohio-based Kettering Health Network will implement a real-time notification system that will allow emergency medical services personnel to exchange patient information with hospitals more quickly.

For the notification system, KHN is partnering with ESO, a data exchange platform that powers electronic data sharing between EMS and hospitals, as well as TrackEMS, a notification app that EMS can use to send hospital emergency departments critical patient data from the field.

The ESO platform will allow the system to automatically pull any data the hospital or EMS need from the patient's EHR. Additionally, EMS will be able to electronically transmit patient case summaries directly to the admitting hospital, where staff will receive notification of incoming EMS transports with the patient's information prior to their arrival.

The ESO and TrackEMS software will be integrated into KHN's operations command center by the end of this year.
