Iowa hospital selects Allscripts Sunrise EHR

Mercy Iowa City revealed plans to install Allscripts Sunrise EHR March 22.

The Iowa City, Iowa-based community hospital will use Sunrise as a comprehensive platform to connect its acute care hospital with ambulatory, surgical, pharmacy, radiology and laboratory services. Sunrise, which runs on Microsoft Azure, is a single platform that includes integrated revenue cycle, patient administration and engagement functions.

The cloud-based platform streamlines communication and data sharing to promote efficiency and better patient outcomes.

"By selecting Allscripts, Mercy Iowa City provides its clinicians and patients a more efficient, automated and seamless experience, powered by the latest technology on a single patient: Sunrise platform of health record," said Nicole Faucher, vice president of client development and delivery at Allscripts. "Regardless of where a patient is seen or treated within the organization, all data is available and visible to all care team members. This not only enhances the patient/provider relationship, it elevates the clinical decision support and automation provided at the point of care, thereby increasing the consistent and sustained achievement of improved patient safety and outcomes. Going forward, patients will interact with their providers and the organization through a single patient engagement and health record, Follow My Health. Follow My Health empowers the patient to review their record, make appointments, pay bills, communicate with their provider and engage in virtual telehealth visits."
