HHS selected three winning teams for its Easy EHR Issue Reporting Challenge, one of the agency's efforts to encourage safe use of health IT systems.
HHS' ONC launched the challenge in June, inviting developers to build software tools that allow clinicians to easily report EHR usability and safety concerns from within their daily workflow.
"Helping reduce the burden of health IT continues to be a key area of focus at the ONC," said ONC head Don Rucker, MD. "Once the winning submissions reach production, we expect to see how reporting safety issues can be less burdensome for healthcare providers."
Here are the three winning teams:
First place ($45,000): James Madison Advisory Group
Second place ($25,000): Pegwin
Third place ($10,000): Jared Schwartz and team
