Medical device integration and analytics company Excel Medical is bringing its real-time patient surveillance tools to the Epic EHR.
Excel's solution supports patient monitors, medical devices, alarm management, digital cardiac monitor documentation and real-time physiological surveillance on a single platform to help clinicians make sense of patient data at the point of care.
The solution will be integrated across Epic's Hyperspace desktop and the Canto, Haiku and Rover mobile applications.
"We all are aware of the clinical limitations of traditional [medical device integration]: it simply provides a vital sign into a flowsheet," Lance Burton, president of Excel Medical, said in a news release. "This misses the majority of the patient's clinical picture and impedes workflows.
