From launching a new connection hub to new partnerships with health systems, here are nine updates on Epic's operations, software products and partnerships reported by Becker's Hospital Review in December.
- UVA Health Culpeper (Va.) Medical Center, UVA Health Haymarket (Va.) Medical Center, and UVA Health Prince William Medical Center in Manassas, Va., transitioned to an Epic EHR after their recent acquisition by Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health.
- Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center said it has made progress with its Epic EHR transition and that the integration is set to go live in 2024.
- EHR company Epic said its 11,000 Wisconsin-based employees have been working in-person five days a week since November 2021.
- With the help of its Epic EHR, Fountain Valley, Calif.-based MemorialCare is integrating dental services into its health centers.
- Epic said it is launching a connection hub where developers can indicate that their software is interoperable with the EHR vendor. The new hub, launching Jan. 9, will allow vendors connected to Epic to self-report that they have successfully attained data exchange with Epic.
- UCSF Health and UCSF Dentistry, both based in San Francisco, have merged medical and oral health records into the health system's Epic EHR system.
- Ten Massachusetts health centers went live Dec. 1 with new Epic EHRs thanks to $5 million in federal funding from the American Rescue Plan.
- Jefferson Health is migrating functionality of its Epic EHR system to Microsoft Azure in a bid to secure, improve and optimize IT service delivery.
- Boston-based Fenway Health went live Dec. 1 with a new Epic EHR.
