New tools and services are making it easier to move Epic to the Amazon Web Services cloud from on premises and hybrid architecture, according to an updated offer from NTT DATA.
NTT DATA now has a full stack of consulting and technical services to accelerate and ease the migration of Epic EHR to the AWS cloud. AWS increased the size of its global references per second for Epic on AWS customers in February to 75 million, and modernized APIs.
Organizations running Epic's Chronicles Operational Database in single server mode saw an increase of up to 47.3 million global references per second.
The partnership between AWS and Epic has grown over the years and will keep evolving to meet the needs of healthcare customers. One of the biggest challenges right now is cybersecurity, and AWS has marketplace software partners for EHR read-only disaster recovery, which can be helpful in the event of a ransomware attack.
Epic has grown in the artificial intelligence space as well. The EHR company released its AI Trust and Assurance Suite May 21 to help healthcare organizations test and monitor AI models. The software automates data collection and mapping. This summer, the company aims to make the suite's monitoring templates and data schemas available as open source software.
