Columbus Regional Health Physicians, the network of primary and specialty care physician offices within the Columbus (Ind.) Regional Health, launched the Epic EHR platform.
The network went live on the Epic platform in 20-plus outpatient locations and practices Nov. 1. The platform provides Columbus Regional Health Physicians a unified medical records system, helping mitigate duplication of records and outdated information.
Additionally, the platform enables patients to access their medical records, keep track of and schedule appointments, view test results and communicate with their physician. The MyChart patient portal is available online and as a smartphone application.
"The Epic system will not only advance patient care practices, but also the overall patient experience, with improved access to health information, enhanced patient-provider communication and easy, convenient scheduling options," said. Slade Crowder, MD, associate CMO of Columbus Regional Health Physicians.
