CMS pushed back the deadline for critical access hospitals that received a payment adjustment to apply for reconsideration to Feb. 19, according to the American Hospital Association.
Moreover, Medicare payments for critical access hospitals that did not achieve meaningful use in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program for the 2016 reporting period or receive a hardship exception will be reduced to 100 percent of their reasonable costs in fiscal year 2018.
For 2018, hospitals and critical access hospitals participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program must report meaningful use data through the QualityNet secure portal. The reporting period began on Jan. 2.
