Cerner offers buyouts to some employees

Cerner is offering some employees a "voluntary departure" deal, a company spokesperson confirmed to Becker's Hospital Review Jan. 22.

"We will offer eligible associates a voluntary departure with financial and health-related benefits, providing individuals the chance to pursue other desired career opportunities," the spokesperson wrote in an email to Becker's.

The news was first reported by Histalk and highlighted in the Politico Morning eHealth newsletter Jan. 22. Although the buyouts are voluntary, Cerner said that it will later evaluate whether "additional adjustments are required," according to Politico.

The company also said the buyouts would not affect its work with the U.S. Defense or Veterans Affairs Departments, Politico reports.

The Cerner spokesperson did not specify how many employees were offered buyouts when asked by Becker's Hospital Review.
