Cerner on July 23 announced a new cloud-based EHR offering to help rural and critical access hospitals speed up the implementation process and reduce costs.
Three notes:
1. The new EHR offering, dubbed CommunityWorks Foundations, is a cloud-based version of Cerner's Millennium EHR.
2. CommunityWorks Foundations supports a six-month "kick-off to go-live" timeline and offers a fixed-fee payment structure with no upfront capital spend.
3. Cerner has more than 200 rural and critical access hospital clients across the U.S. Lafayette, Tenn.-based Macon Community Hospital recently went live on CommunityWorks Foundations and Tecumseh, Neb.-based Johnson County Hospital also plans to implement the new EHR.
