Cerner generates $1.5B in revenue for Oracle

Cerner generated $1.5 billion in revenue for Oracle in the second quarter of 2022.

The Cerner acquisition played a strong role in Oracle's overall quarterly sales, which exceeded analysts' estimates, totalling $12.3 billion, according to a Dec. 12 earnings report from Oracle.

"Since the acquisition, Cerner has contributed to Oracle's growth — and Oracle has helped Cerner improve its technology," Larry Ellison, chairman of Oracle Health, said in a Dec. 12 earnings report. "But we are just beginning our mission to modernize healthcare information systems."

Mr. Ellison also said future plans for Cerner are to "fully automate clinical trials to shorten the time it takes to deliver lifesaving new drugs to patients, enable clinicians to easily access better information leading to better patient outcomes, and provide public health professionals with an early warning system that locates and identifies new pathogens in time to prevent the next pandemic."
