Boulder (Colo.) Community Health deployed an Epic EHR across its network Oct. 1.
The health system's new Epic EHR replaces two separate systems it had been using for hospital services and physician clinics.
"Having one integrated system that extends across all our facilities enhances the ability of our physicians and nurses to coordinate care and provide services more quickly," said Michael Jefferies, vice president and CIO at BCH, according to a news release emailed to Becker's. "It also helps us improve communication with our patients."
With Epic, BCH patients now have access to an online patient portal called MyBCH. The portal allows patients to view test results, message their providers and schedule appointments, among other abilities.
BCH is a nonprofit, independent health system home to more than 540 affiliated physicians.
