Athenahealth released its full-year earnings results for 2017 on Feb. 1.
Here are four things to know about the company's performance.
1. Athenahealth posted $1.22 billion in revenue for full-year 2017, up 13 percent from $1.08 billion in 2016.
2. The company reported consolidated bookings were $293 million in 2017, down 16 percent from $348 million last year.
3. Athenahealth reported $70.6 million in operating income during 2017, up 165 percent from $26.6 million last year. The $70.6 million constituted 5.8 percent of the company's total 2017 revenue.
4. The company posted net income of $53.1 million, up 153 percent from $21.0 million one year prior.
"We closed the year with strong financial performance during the fourth quarter," said Marc Levine, CFO of athenahealth, crediting the company's growth to a 15 percent increase in providers on the athenahealth network. "This revenue growth, combined with execution on our plans to reduce expenses and operate more efficiently, resulted in strong margin expansion."
