Jonathan Bush joins primary care startup Firefly

Jonathan Bush is now executive chairman of Firefly Health, a Boston-based startup for primary care, Boston Globe reports.

Firefly, which provides patients primary care through a digital application as well as clinic and employer visits, announced Sept. 16 that it closed $10.2 million in a financing round led by F-Prime Capital and Oak HC/FT. Mr. Bush invested in Firefly in April, but his role as executive chairman was publicly disclosed in that funding announcement.

Mr. Bush told the Boston Globe that he anticipates spending "at least half of his time in the near future" with Firefly. He will provide guidance to the company's CEO Andy Ellner but merely as a part-time job.

"I want to make sure I don't overcrowd the CEO," Mr. Bush said.

Carl Byers, F-Prime general partner, and Nancy Brown, Oak general partner, will also join Firefly's board of directors, according to the report.
