Paul Brient, former CEO at EHR software company PatientKeeper, joined Athenahealth as the health IT vendor's new chief product officer.
Five notes:
1. Mr. Brient brings more than 25 years of experience in health IT, including physician workflow, practice automation and payer-based medical management, to his role as CPO.
2. Prior to joining Athenahealth, Mr. Brient served 17 years as CEO at PatientKeeper.
3. Mr. Brient has also held senior executive-level positions at healthcare companies including McKesson Corp. and HPR.
4. He serves on the advisory board for LRVHealth and has filled board positions for various companies, including Reva Systems.
5. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Princeton (N.J.) University, Mr. Brient completed his MBA from Harvard Business School in Boston.
