Chicago-based health IT company Allscripts has confirmed staff layoffs to Becker's Hospital Review.
Readers posted about rumored layoffs at Allscripts to health IT news and blog website HIStalk on Dec. 3, citing several comments on TheLayoff.com.
When asked about the layoffs and potential restructuring, an Allscripts spokesperson provided Becker's with the following statement:
"We are focused on delivering for our clients, and it’s critical that we have the right people and skills in place to do that. As a normal course of business, We are rebalancing our team to ensure we have the right resources allocated to the right projects. Unfortunately, this rebalancing meant certain of our valued associates will no longer be employed at Allscripts. We are providing transitional and other services to each affected individual."
The Allscripts spokesperson did not reveal how many employees were affected or whether it planned to close any U.S. offices.
