Allscripts said clients using its Professional EHR experienced unscheduled downtime Dec. 17, but that the issue has since been resolved, a company spokesperson told Becker's Hospital Review Dec. 19.
Several Allscripts clients took to Twitter Dec. 17 to express frustration and reach out for help when they were unable to log in to their EHRs. When asked to confirm the downtime, a company spokesperson provided the following statement to Becker's Hospital Review:
"Allscripts clients using Professional EHR in our hosted environment experienced unscheduled downtime on Monday, Dec. 17, due to an issue that prevented login access to the solution following internal maintenance. Allscripts has resolved the issue and services have been restored."
The spokesperson did not answer questions related to how many clients were affected, how long the downtime lasted or what caused the downtime.
