Jefferson City, Mo.-based Capital Region Medical Center selected Cerner as its new EHR and revenue cycle management solutions vendor
CRMC has been an affiliate of Columbia-based University of Missouri Health Care since 1997, and its transition to Cerner will extend upon MU Health Care's collaboration with the North Kansas City-based EHR vendor.
Neither the hospital nor Cerner provided a cost estimate or potential timeline for the transition.
Migrating to Cerner, however, will give CRMC access to the Tiger Institute for Health Innovation — an organization formed by Cerner and MU Health Care. After implementation, Cerner will take care of CRMC's day-to-day IT operations management so CRMC can optimize the institute's resources.
"We are excited to broaden our collaboration with CRMC to bring them access to the Tiger Institute for Health Innovation's integrated platform and solutions," said MU Health Care CEO Jonathan Curtright. "As a result of the successes we've seen in patient care while working with Cerner, we look forward to seeing improved health outcomes for patients at CRMC and MU Health Care."
