This facility will operate 24 hours a day and provide emergency care to residents on the town's north side, where emergency care is not already readily available, Conrad Brown, STHS system director for ambulatory services, told The Monitor.
Registered nurses will staff the ER, which will have a full-fledged laboratory, 24-hour radiology services and CT scan services.
STHS currently operates two other freestanding clinics in Weslaco and Mission, Texas, and plans to have a total of six by the end of the year.
