Slack founder and CEO Stewart Butterfield is leaving parent company Salesforce, CNBC reported Dec. 5.
The news comes just days after Salesforce co-CEO Bret Taylor announced his intention to leave the company in January. Salesforce purchased Slack, a workplace messaging service, for $27.7 billion in 2021.
Mr. Butterfield said his decision to leave is unrelated to Mr. Taylor's departure. Salesforce executive vice president Lidiane Jones will succeed Mr. Butterfield as Slack CEO.
