Google has announced plans to roll out a feature that allows patients to view appointment availability for participating healthcare providers directly from its search page.
For example, if someone searches for a physician or a health provider's office, they'll see what types of appointments are available and the date of the earliest appointment. A "book" button will direct them to a third-party site to make an appointment, according to a March 24 Google news letter.
The initial rollout, which is still in its early stages, will work with CVS' MinuteClinic and other unnamed appointment schedulers.
