Alex Kipman, Microsoft's cloud and artificial intelligence group executive vice president, is leaving the company after spending 20 years with Microsoft, The Wall Street Journal reported June 8.
In an internal email to Microsoft, Mr. Kipman said that he was leaving the company to "pursue other opportunities."
During his time at the company, Mr. Kipman was in charge of developing the HoloLens, an augmented-reality headset that projects digital objects into the real world.
His departure comes as Rajesh Jha, executive vice president in charge of Microsoft Office and Windows, told employees to be more cautious when it comes to opening up new roles at the company.
