AT&T launches AI-powered home monitoring tech

Telecommunications giant AT&T is partnering with Cherish to launch Cherish Serenity, an artificial intelligence-powered home monitoring device.

The use of AI as a monitoring tool is designed to make it less invasive than a camera or wearable-based monitoring tool. Cherish Serenity will feature AT&T cellular connectivity, according to an April 17 AT&T news release.

AT&T will send the tool to older adult living facilities, nursing homes and healthcare providers.

"Our work with AT&T, which began in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, brings instant-on connectivity so that people can plug and forget this vital capability and get on with their lives," Cherish CEO Sumit Nagpal said in the release.
