UMass Memorial Health is teaming up with Halo Health to launch the health system's clinical communication initiative.
The initiative would allow the entire health system to modernize around a digital foundation by using cloud platforms that complement the EHR, according to a July 28 news release.
Three things to know:
- The combination of platforms will allow the Worcester, Mass.-based health system's 15,500 employees and 2,100 physicians to communicate securely and seamlessly, according to the news release.
- Eric Alper, MD, chief clinical informatics officer and chief quality officer, said UMass Memorial selected Halo Health for this initiative because it's compatible with the Epic EHR. It also allows the health system to replace and augment existing solutions it has in place.
- Halo Health allows hospitals to send real-time communication to all staff, including nonclinical team members and community partners. The platform is HIPAA-compliant.
