The first quarter of 2021 was digital health's most-funded quarter to date, and investors continued the trend in April by pledging high dollar amounts to technology-driven health startups.
Below are five digital health startups that raised $100 million or more in April.
- Artificial intelligence-powered drug discovery company Exscientia raised up to $525 million in a series D funding round. The company took $225 million and has discretionary access to another $300 million.
- Online pharmacy Capsule raised $300 million in a series D funding round, bringing its valuation to more than $1 billion.
- Virtual diabetes care company Virta raised $133 million in a series E funding round.
- Tend, a technology-driven dental startup, raised $125 million in a series C funding round.
- Digital surgery platform Caresyntax raised $100 million in a series C funding round.
