Minneapolis-based Children's Minnesota is launching an initiative called Next Step, designed to reduce violence, NBC affiliate KARE reported April 10.
Next Step is an intervention program connecting pediatric violent injury patients to resources and support. The program aims to reduce the rate of re-injury and re-hospitalization for victims of gunshots, stabbings and other injuries.
The program has been active since 2016 in the region and has served 900 patients, the report said.
