California hospital rebrands to better reflect community it serves

San Francisco, Calif.-based Dignity Health renamed one of its hospitals. The Camarillo, Calif.-based hospital formerly known as St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital on July 6 changed its name to St. John's Hospital Camarillo.

The hospital said the change was made to better reflect the community in which it's based.

"It is a privilege to serve Camarillo residents,” Darren Lee, the hospital's president and CEO told the Pacific Coast Business Times. "While we are proud of the St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital name, we are motivated to build on our legacy of healing as St. John’s Hospital Camarillo — a name that is representative of the community we serve."
