Many health systems are focusing on digital innovation to boost the patient experience and lessen administrative work for clinicians.
Here are four examples, according to a Nov. 12 American Hospital Association article:
1. Cleveland Clinic enhanced its "digital front door" so patients can schedule appointments, access medical records and manage billing online.
2. Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic is implementing "smart hospital" technology such as smart beds and room sensors to better monitor patients in real time and adjust comfort settings.
3. New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System has instituted artificial intelligence-powered predictive analytics to anticipate patient needs and personalize treatment plans.
4. New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian integrated virtual mental health screenings into its EHR.
