Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health System is adding a genomic decision support tool to its Epic EHR to improve its precision medicine efforts.
YNHHS will integrate ActX Genomic Decision Support at its five hospitals and over 400 ambulatory sites, including its 1,541-bed academic medical center.
The ActX platform aims to help prescribers check prescription drugs against a patient's genetic profile. With the clinical decision support tool, prescribers will receive alerts within their Epic workflow related to potential adverse reactions, drug efficacy or dosing.
YNHHS will initially focus its genomic decision support on pharmacogenomics in behavioral health, cardiology, infectious disease and pediatrics.
