Nubeva Technologies, a hospital cybersecurity vendor, decrypted live LockBit ransomware at an unnamed 240-bed hospital.
Nubeva's ransomware reversal system is designed to decrypt ransomware data and help organizations affected by cyberattacks return to normal operations without paying the ransom, according to a June 8 Nubeva news release.
In March, the federal government warned healthcare organizations that LockBit 3.0 can now get around malware detection.
"Persistent ransomware groups, including LockBit, BlackCat, Black Basta, and ClOP, are relentlessly targeting healthcare organizations," Nubeva Chief Marketing Officer Steve Perkins said. "We are fully committed to empowering healthcare institutions with a simplified, rapid, and affordable solution to fortify their protection against such threats."
