Several health systems have reported data breach incidents that have compromised patient data and IT systems during July.

- Baton Rouge (La.) General Medical Center had to switch to paper record-keeping after a cyberattack forced officials there to take its EHR system offline.
- A cybercriminal group is taking responsibility for an alleged ransomware attack on a Missouri hospital system. Though the nonprofit hospital did not confirm the attack, DAIXIN Team has been using the dark web to share a link to data that it stole from the hospital.
- A data breach on accounts receivable management company Professional Finance Co. had affected more than 600 healthcare organizations.
- VCU Health disclosed it had recently learned that beginning as early as Jan. 4, 2006, information about transplant donors had accidentally been included in files for their transplant recipients and vice versa. The health system said 4,441 donors and recipients have been affected by the incident.
- A Phoenixville (Pa.) Hospital employee was fired after accessing patient medical records without authorization.
- Corpus Christi, Texas-based Christus Spohn Health System learned that an unauthorized user had accessed its system, which contained protected health information of 15,000 patients.
- An iPad with 75,000 patients' protected health information was stolen from Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center in May.
