A data leak exposed the personal information of thousands of hospital workers, Cybernews reported.
In June, the publication's researchers found an open web directory containing a data backup belonging to healthcare staffing company MNA Healthcare, according to the Sept. 11 story. The inadvertent leak was caused by a system misconfiguration, which has since been fixed.
The exposed data belonged to roughly 14,000 U.S. healthcare workers, the news outlet reported. The information included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, email addresses, and work experience.
The directory also included the names of hospitals that work with the staffing company. Becker's reached out to MNA Healthcare for comment.
