A Jackson Healthcare survey of 1,512 physicians found 82 percent did not receive compensation from prescriptions, lab tests, diagnostic imaging, hospital admissions or facility/surgery fees, according to a company news release.
Other findings include:
• 36 percent receive their total compensation from only fixed sources
• 12 percent receive variable compensation based on productivity
• 8 percent receive variable compensation from practice ownership
• 6.2 percent total compensation comes from the following sources:
