RN average hourly wage & salary for all 50 states in 2016

The national average annual wage of registered nurses was $72,180 in 2016, but RNs in some states earn much more than the national average.

Registered nurses in California earn the highest average annual salary of RNs in the U.S. at $101,750, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Massachusetts is a close second at $89,060 followed by Hawaii, Oregon and Alaska.
