Las Vegas' University Medical Center Employees Receive 2% Pay Cut

University Medical Center in Las Vegas is cutting 3,600 employees' pay by 2 percent to save approximately $5.5 million a year, according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal report.

The pay cut affects the last two months of employees' contract that ended June 30 and will remain in place until the hospital and union make a new labor agreement.

In addition, the maximum for employees' merit-pay raises will decrease from 6 percent to 3.4 percent.
