INTEGRATED Healthcare Strategies has created and launched its Physician Compensation and Production Survey and invites healthcare organizations to participate.
The survey was created by Chad Stutelberg, an executive vice president and practice leader of the physician services practice at INTEGRATED, and Aurora Young, vice president of the physician services practices, according to an IHS report.
Highlighted below are three compensation trends, according to Mr. Stutelberg and Ms. Young.
Common trends in physician compensation arrangements include:
- An increased focus on qualitative/non-productivity incentives
- A desire to move compensation from volume to value,
- An attempt to better align compensation models with reimbursement trends and the prevailing market norms.
Mr. Stutelberg and Ms. Young also noted an important physician compensation arrangement best practice for hospitals to help protect themselves.
"One of the most followed practices is to ensure that the organization appropriately benchmarks its physician compensation arrangements to multiple reputable, published and comparable survey data sources," wrote Mr. Stutelberg.
The deadline to participate is June 30. In August, a free copy of the survey results will be released exclusively to participants. Nonparticipants will be able to purchase the survey results when they are made available to everyone else in September.
